The Warren Public Library is gearing up for a busy fall with new programs and resources.

In collaboration with the Erie Arts and Culture Council, the library is offering a free program called Spinning Tales, led by April Cox, a folk artist and farmer from Spartansburg, PA. This event will focus on folk art and history.

According to Jenn Knisley, Adult Services Librarian, “She will be presenting a program called Spinning Tales. She’ll be coming dressed in colonial attire, spinning yarn while telling different folk and fairy tales.”

The immersive program is scheduled for Tuesday, September 3rd, at 6 PM and is free to the public with registration.

In addition to this event, the library has expanded its resources with a new solar charging station and bench, funded by the county commissioners and the Office of Commonwealth Libraries in Harrisburg.

Kelli Knapp, Executive Director of the Warren Public Library, stated, “All of the five libraries in Warren County have either a bench or some sort of charging station that will be installed outside their libraries for patrons and their communities. We want to provide as many resources as we can for the community. As the charging bench is close to the library, people will also have access to our wifi for free. It's our hope to provide access even when we’re not open.”

Sheffield, Sugar Grove, Tidioute, and Youngsville libraries will be adding solar charging stations in the coming months, alongside the one already available in Warren.
