Last week the A.N.N.A. Shelter assisted the City of Erie Police Department with a call regarding kids playing catch with a kitten on a sidewalk.

Officer Martin responded to the call and found kids tossing the kitten back and forth. He recovered the cat and quickly brought it to the shelter to be triaged by the shelter's veterinarian.

After running some diagnostics including x-rays it was determined he had no broken bones but was in shock. Additionally, the kitten was suffering from an upper respiratory infection to boot.

According to the A.N.N.A. Shelter, Officer Martin stopped in a few times times to check in on the kitten. The shelter named the kitten Oreo.

The shelter said Officer Martin decided to adopt the kitten. Officer Martin is fostering to adopt Oreo.
