Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Responds to Trump Overtime Comment
Angela Ferritto, president of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, responds to former President Trump's comment on overtime.
"I am not surprised by his comments, this is a man who has really built his business on exploiting workers, he has been accused of stiffing contractors, running people through the court system to not have to pay his bills and when Donald Trump makes a comment like he does not like to pay workers so he gets other people and does not pay them, to me, it is just a blatant admission to who he really is at his core," Ferritto said.
When asked what Ferritto thinks Pennsylvania workers' reactions would be, she said, "I would hope that it is anger, disdain and that those workers understand that they are worthy of a fair day's pay, they deserve a fair day's pay, they deserve to be paid for the time that they are working and for the work being performed and I would hope that that makes people take pause and think about who they are giving their support to and what the trajectory is that they want for themselves as working class Americans for the next four years."
The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO has endorsed the Harris-Walz ticket and for president and vice president.
The Trump campaign provided Erie News Now with a comment that read in part, "Democrats are having a tough time with their traditional union allies... there’s only one candidate in this race who has had the back of the American Worker from Pittsburgh to Scranton to Philadelphia to Erie and who always will. President Donald J. Trump," said Kush Desai, Pennsylvania Communications Director, Team Trump.
