Firefighters battled a barn fire in North East on Sunday.

The barn is next to a home right on the Morehead Airpark property on S. Haskell Rd.

North East Fire Department responded to the call and called for more help to lay lines and fight the fire. They had to pump water from a nearby pond.

Chief Jack Diorazio said the windy conditions made things challenging and caused the fire to spread quickly.

Family members looked on as firefighters continued to pour water over the smoldering remnants of the barn.

Flames spread to a RV parked alongside the barn. Both were a total loss.

There's no word on what sparked the fire.
