As we pass the two-week mark for early voting, the Erie County Elections Office emphasizes the importance of early voting in the 2024 election.

The county clerk, Karen Chillcott addressed that even though in the 2020 election only 8% of the total votes were cast early, this year's numbers are expected to rise.

Karen Chillcott shares the importance of voting in Erie County, while it accounts for 19 of the Electoral College votes.

Karen Chillcott said, "We are the number one county in America right now; however, Erie votes this is the way the state goes, and likely the county. Early voting is a good opportunity for people that are traveling, or if they are concerned and do not want to go to the polls that day and they want to vote, they can choose to mail in a ballot. I think we are going to expect more and more people coming into the courthouse to vote this year."
