The Millcreek Township Fire Department is accepting applications for 15 full-time firefighter positions, supported by the FEMA SAFER Grant Program.

The positions will be permanently funded by the township beyond the grant period, ensuring long-term stability for the new hires.

Representatives from the township said the initiative continues Millcreek's transition to a combined department of paid and volunteer firefighters. The new firefighters would add to the team of 11 full-time and 25 part-time firefighters that were hired in the past year.

Candidates must hold Firefighter I and EMT-B certifications to apply. Firefighter II and Paramedic certifications are required within three years of employment.

Applicants should complete the written exam and Public Safety Self-Assessment (PSSA) through the National Testing Network by November 30, 2024. Veterans with a DD-214 form will receive a 20 percent bonus on their test score.

Applications, resumes and certification copies can be sent to the Millcreek Township Administrative Office at 3608 West 26th Street or via email at hr@millcreektownship.com.

A practice Physical Agility Test will be held on November 16 at 8 a.m. The official test will be held on December 7.
