Dancing Away the Blues in Warren
As winter approaches, many people are looking for ways to stay active.
In Warren, the Saturday Night Dance Club is offering a fun way to keep moving and stay connected through the dance floor.
Staying active, especially during the winter months has long been recommended to maintain good health. But finding a fun way to do it can be difficult.
The Saturday Night Dance Club in Warren is bridging that gap, offering a special place for people to get active and social through ballroom dance.
The group has been meeting at the Conewango Club in Warren for several decades, meeting on the third Saturday of each month for a seven-month long period, with participants ranging in age from 23 to 78.
"We love dancing and there aren't a lot of opportunities to go dancing, plus we have been able to meet so many wonderful people here," stated Verlynn Kleppe, Saturday Night Dance Club member.
Stacey Crandall, Chairman of the dance club stated, "It's a chance to get out and exercise, dance, and be with people and have fun."
"I think it is great for couples too, it kind of enhances relationships" added Donna Zariczny, Club Treasurer. "This club gives you the ability to move, dance, and laugh on the dance floor, which is healthy for everyone."
“It’s easy to just stay at home, but this is something that gets you out, moving, and socializing," stated David Brook, Saturday Night Dance Club member.
Saturday Night Dance Club representatives stated that membership is always open, and pro-rated, costing $120 per couple for the season.
