Every day there are thousands of students in Erie that walk to school, and take on dangerous paths on the way.

Students face issues like speeding traffic, cracked/broken sidewalks, snow piles, unleashed animals and crime. The hazards students experience does not just interfere with their ability to get to school safe, but also every day people of Erie walking.

The United Way of Erie County's Student Walking Safety Initiative will be expanded to help improve walking routes all across the city. This initiative also helps with the City of Erie's Vision Zero program.
