People were lined up around the block to get a free thanksgiving meal from the Erie City Mission today.

The mission has been doing this giveaway for a few years now. This year's distribution began at 8 a.m. on Monday.

The mission's CEO says it gets bigger every year.

People received turkeys and sides to make a traditional Thanksgiving meal for around five people.

The Erie City Mission will be handing out meals until they run out. On Thursday, November 28 (Thanksgiving Day), the mission is hosting a free Thanksgiving meal for people experiencing homelessness.
