The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting drivers to additional traffic shifts and lane restrictions on Route 6 in the City of Meadville and West Mead Township in Crawford County.

PennDOT is continuing work on the Route 6 Reconstruction Project. Updated lane restrictions are expected to start December 2, 2024.

Once implemented, westbound traffic will continue to be restricted to one lane. When the roadway shifts across the temporary crossover, traffic will now be traveling in the right lane. Eastbound traffic will be shifted to the westbound side of the roadway.

PennDOT says this will be a long-term traffic pattern as work focuses on reconstruction of the new two-way configuration the the area.

During the traffic change, drivers should be prepared for daylight flagging as well as potential night flagging operations.
