Through grant funding from the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority's Digital Connectivity Technology Program, the library will receive 70 new laptops for community members to use.

State Representatives Pat Harkins and Bob Merski were able to secure the funding in an effort Merski said will bridge a digital divide and help the community's seniors, while Harkins explained that the new laptops are another way to help educate the community's students.

Jessica Spitulski, Erie County Public Library Director, thanked the representatives as well as staff members Rachel Stevenson and Alyssa Johnson for their efforts to create what she called digital equity for the entire community.
