Erie County Public Safety is asking the public to only use 911 for life-or-death emergencies only.

First responders are experiencing an overwhelming number of calls, and it's important to make sure the system is available for anyone in immediate danger.

Residents are asked to contact 211, the United Way’s resource hotline, for all other concerns including:

  • Non-functioning furnaces
  • Snow buildup on roofs
  • Difficulty accessing appointments or essential services
  • Other non-emergency needs

Anyone who is experiencing a life-threatening emergency such as a medical crisis, fire or other critical situation should not hesitate to call 911.
