Erie Digs Out As Snow Continues to Fall
While people stayed home on Saturday morning following the snowfall, they spent the day digging out their cars and driveways.
As plows worked to clear the streets from early morning through the afternoon, men and women did their part to clear paths from their homes.
Richard Korytowski, an Erie resident said, "Yesterday I shoveled for four hours and today I've been here for about an hour."
He is no stranger to the snow, he grew up in Erie and has seen his fair share of harsh winters, and he said this snow is close to the Christmas snow of 2017. He was prepared, but didn't think he would see this much snow, "Just having my snow shovel handy. I expected to shovel but not this much", said Korytowski.
He wasn't alone, people got our their snow blowers and shovels all through the day, looking to get one layer of snow removed before more fell. Korytowski took his time to shovel out his driveway and advises others to stay home. "Don't travel unless you absolutely have to. Take it easy and don't overexert yourself", said Korytowski.
