Mercy Center for Women Receives Historic $1.75M Anonymous Donation

The Mercy Center for Women is celebrating the holiday season with a historic donation.
The organization announced Friday it has received a $1.75 million donation from an anonymous donor.
It's the largest contribution in the center's 30-year history.
The non-profit serves as a safe haven for women and families in need. The unrestricted funds will be used to enhance the center's campus.
They will also support all of the programs that the center offers.
The Mercy Center is expanding after obtaining the Holy Rosary Rectory. The building will be used to provide additional transitional housing and a prison re-entry program.
"It's a huge need," said Jennie Hagerty, executive director of Mercy Center for Women. "Prison reentry is a huge need, but along with that, it's the homelessness that continues to increase, especially around the Christmas season, along with domestic violence and addictions. We are just thrilled and we are overjoyed that somebody saw the good work, the need in our community and quitely stepped forward to make a huge difference in the mission of the Mercy Center."
The Mercy Center for Women is currently providing housing to nearly 80 men, women and children.
