The cold conditions this week may have you yearning for warmth—especially if you like golf or other outside sports typically played in the spring or summer.

A downtown Erie entertainment spot could help fill that void.

Even if there's snow outside, the images of greens from famous golf courses fill the simulated bays inside this first-of-a-kind business in the city.

You can come inside to order a meal or drink at the bar. You can also schedule a tee time to play in an upper or lower level golf simulator, which allows for six players at a time.

Ron Holden makes this a weekly routine with fellow longtime golf friends.

They are all members of Five Iron Golf.

Additionally, the business features an upper-level game area, where there's ping pong, air hockey, shuffleboard, and other family friendly games. It's also an area available to rent for personal or corporate parties.

Just like the lower-level private party area where Erie News Now talked with Drew Whiting, the owner of 10th & State LLC and Five Iron Golf.

The Erie transplant first showed me inside the former Golf Evolution in 2023, before construction started on Five Iron.

He now hopes this golf franchise in Erie can extend to other nearby bigger cities.

A year-round destination for different age groups and skill levels.
