UPMC has revised its mask policy. As of February 12, masking is recommended for all people inside UPMC facilities and areas where patient care is provided. 

On Monday, February 10, UPMC announced it was bringing back mask requirements as respiratory viruses are on the rise.

However, masking will no longer be required inside UPMC facilities. People are encouraged to wear masks inside the following UPMC sites: 

  • Freestanding medical offices.
  • Hospitals.
  • Medical buildings where patient care is provided.
  • Outpatient medical centers.
  • Senior living facilities.
