The Erie County Sheriff's Office has partnered with Permitium LLC and will now offer an online option for the License to Carry (LTC) application and payment process. 

Effective immediately, citizens interested in applying for a License to Carry can now do so online by visit the Erie County Sheriff's Office's website. 

After completing the online application, applications will be able to make payments via credit or debit card. Once the full application is submitted, the office will review it and submit it to PICS for approval processing. 

Approved applicants will be notified online or by telephone to schedule an appointment for photograph and to pickup the approved LTC. 

Proper ID is required for the LTC to be issued. 

The Sheriff's Office will continue to offer a hand written paper application and cash payment process.
