Erie Native Jessica Fischer Named Park Operation Manger

Jessica Fischer is experiencing what she calls a full-circle moment—growing up in Erie and now leading in some of Pennsylvania's state parks.
Fischer's extensive career experience has prepared her for this new role. Her career took her to several state parks across Pennsylvania, including Laurel Hill State Park, Point State Park, Cook Forest, and Clear Creek State Park.
Some of her roles have included Seasonal Resource Ranger and Park Manager Trainee. But some of her fondest memories come from growing up in Erie and spending time with her family at local parks.
Pymatuning State Park is home to beautiful scenic features and is surrounded by a lake fed by the Shenango River. The park offers a variety of recreational activities, safety courses, and educational programs about nature and wildlife.
Fischer says, "Pymatuning State Park is like its own little town, where there's a lot going on. I oversee the park staff, resource management activities, and I'm involved in event coordination."
Park officials say they have developed many facilities to support recreation. Fischer says she is looking forward to meeting all of the park's visitors.
