Julie Minich Announces Candidacy for Mayor of the City of Erie

Julie Minich announced her candidacy for Mayor of the City of Erie. Minich is running as an independent and will not be on the ballot for the primary, and will only be on the ballot for the general election in the fall.
Minich states that the people need choices, and she wants other people in politics to bring new ideas. Some of Minich's ideas include expanding Downtown Erie to 18th Street and opening a full service grocery store in the downtown area.
Other candidates in the race for mayor include the incumbent Mayor Joe Schember who is seeking a third term, and Daria Devlin, who serves as the director of social impact at the Hamot Health Foundation, and is on the Erie School Board.
They are both seeking the Democratic nomination with the primary election set for May 20.
