Local Woman Creates Free 'Prom Store'

It’s almost Prom Season!
A local Albion woman created what she is calling a Glam And Go Event! Brit Johnson of Beauty by Brit is using social media to rally her community together to donate formal attire.
The items collected will be used for a prom store so that local high school students can shop for free.
"We are collecting prom dresses and we're creating a free prom dress store. So the students of Northwestern Senior High School can come and shop," says Johnson.
Johnson is not just collecting prom dresses but also gently used formal men's attire so everyone can shop for free.
"Our community is small but its mighty. And we already have almost seventy dresses. Which is amazing," said Johnson.
Johnson used social media to help get her community involved. She also reached out to leaders from the Northwestern Community Youth Center to facilitate the prom store.
The Free Prom Store is still in need of attire. Once the students Northwestern get a chance to shop, Johnson would like to expand the store to other schools.
You can drop off Attire at Northwestern Community Youth Center every Wednesday from 5pm-6pm.
Additionally, attire can be dropped off at Beauty by Brit Every Monday and Friday. Those interested in donating prom attire can message Brit Johnson at 814-737-9042.
