OHL Issues Suspensions, Fines Following Fight During Sunday's Erie Otters Game

The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) has issued suspensions and fines following a heated game between the Erie Otters and Peterborough Petes on Sunday, according to a news release issued Thursday.
For Erie, head coach Kris Mallette is suspended for five games, while assistant coach Ken Peroff will serve a two-game suspension. The team has also been fined $7,500. Otters player Alex Messier faces a nine-game suspension for multiple infractions including exceeding the fighting limit, which is an automatic two-game suspension.
On the Peterborough side, head coach Rob Wilson has been suspended for five games, and the team was fined $5,000. Player Grayden Strohack received a four-game suspension for his role in escalating the altercation.
