Wattsburg Church Celebrates New Bell Tower

A Wattsburg church is ringing in a big moment.
Fellowship Bible Baptist Church on Church Street is celebrating the return of its bell tower.
The tower was damaged in a fire last year, and it's taken a full year to rebuild. Crews had to wait for water to dry, then handle demolition and reconstruction.
Now, the bell tower is back, marking a joyful milestone for the church and its community.
"This is a big day for us," said Pastor Tony Hess. "Getting this back up, and cross on the top, well lit, it's just beautiful!"
"Seeing it come back together, even in pieces, seeing the floors and stuff like that coming back together after the damages of the fire from up above, the water down below, so we're just absolutely delighted seeing this bell tower go back up," said Terri Weidle, resident. "This is good, a piece of history coming back together."
Pastor Hess says there is still some work that needs to be done inside the church before it can fully reopen for services.
The church is planning to have an open house in 30 days, around Easter. It's a chance for the public to come inside and see the renovations.
