Erie Port Authority to Resume Water Taxi Service
The Erie-Western PA Port Authority is officially bringing back its water taxi service.
Back in March, the organization announced that it secured a five-year contract with the Texas-based company JettyLight, to operate the water taxi service.
The Port Authority began offering the service back in 2000, to help people travel from the city of Erie to Presque Isle.
The service has been on hiatus since 2019, due to COVID and after the port authority had trouble finding a captain.
Starting Memorial Day weekend, the port authority's two aquabuses will shuttle people from Dobbins Landing to the Water Works dock at Presque Isle.
The service will be offered through September.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the Bicentennial Tower.
