March isn't just about history—it's about the women making it. The Mercy Center for Women honored 14 outstanding leaders at Mercyhurst University, celebrating their remarkable contributions and demonstrating that the future is as inspiring as the past.

Sister Joanne Courneen, who has long served the community and helped establish the Mercy Center for Women, shared her thoughts on these women. "Each of these women demonstrated dedication, whether in education, healthcare, business, or social causes," she said. "This happened because of the support of Erie people, because of the wonderful staff, and because of the mission that is so needed in this world right now."

We posed the lasting question: In an era full of challenges and opportunities, what does it take for a woman to be successful?

Lauren Bauer, one of the nominees, offered this insight: "It's about building your network. Don't be afraid to ask for help—whether it's my husband, my parents, my family, my sisters, or my partner at work. It doesn't matter where I am. Don't be afraid to lean on others and show up for them too."
