Millcreek Childcare Provider Working with Department of Health Following Measles Case

A Millcreek Township childcare center is working closely with the Erie County Department of Health, after a child was diagnosed with measles.
Creative Learning Childcare is one of two locations where people may have been exposed to the virus.
The other location is UPMC Children's Express Care.
"We are doing our best," said Creative Learning Childcare Director Sanela Zolota. "We are following the Erie County Department of Health guidelines and all the guidelines they have provided us."
According to Zolota, a total of 10 children who were at the facility during the time of the potential exposure must isolate for 21 days.
Those children---ages six weeks to 12-months-old---were in the building's infant room or nursery.
Children who have received at least one vaccination can still attend the childcare center.
Creative Learning Childcare has also been working with the department of health to contact families who may have been exposed.
"The families, I think it was a lot fear in the beginning, but with the more information that we do receive, the more guidance we can provide them, I think the situation is a lot calmer now," said Zolota. "Five days out essentially. We have a countdown, so we're ready for 21 days to be completed."
Creative Learning Childcare provides services for children who are six-weeks-old to age 11.
Nearly 100 children and 60-70 families rely on the organization each day, for services.
