Residents of Asbury Manor Trailer Park in Meadville are raising their voices in desperation as living conditions continue to deteriorate under new ownership of Regal Communities. The trailer park, once a place many considered home for years, now faces crumbling streets and deteriorating homes, leaving residents concerned for their safety and well-being.

In an effort to highlight the severity of the situation, residents recently opened their doors to the community, inviting them inside to witness firsthand the worsening conditions. The plea for help has not gone unnoticed. The Meadville City Council is stepping in, determined to address the crisis and find a solution that will benefit the residents.

Mayor Jamie Kinder, who joined the council on a tour of the park last week, has emphasized the importance of bringing all parties together. “The biggest solution is this: we’re going to facilitate a meeting between the landlord and the residents,” the mayor stated, signaling a more hands-on approach to the issue.

One of the long-time residents, Jolee Matalino, who has lived in the park for over 40 years, has been advocating for better living conditions for years. Her frustration grew after she suffered a broken ankle from tripping over a pothole while walking her dog. Jolee, like many of her neighbors, is hoping for swift action to make their homes safe again.

Regal Communities has acknowledged the ongoing issues at the park, stating that they are aware of the concerns. As the Council works to facilitate a meeting between the residents and Regal Communities, all eyes are on the outcome of these efforts.
