City of Erie Launches Comprehensive Recreation, Park, and Open Space Plan

The City of Erie has begun the development of a new city-wide Comprehensive Recreation, Park, and Open Space Plan (CRPOS Plan). The plan will serve as a road-map for the next 20 years.
The City says the plan will offer a guide for parks, recreation, and open space improvements, programs, and operations and maintenance.
Additionally, the City says the plan recommendations will strive to ensure equitable investments in parks and recreation facilities, programs, and services across Erie. The goal is to provide all residents with fair access to high-quality spaces and activities.
The planning process will start by evaluating the current state of Erie's parks and recreation facilities, while engaging the community in a dialogue about the amenities they value most.
The CRPOS Plan will be a community drive initiative. According to the City, community involvement will be essential to the success of this plan.
The first round of public engagement will begin in the Spring/Summer of 2025.
