PA Farm Bureau Brings Ag Education to Warren County Schools

The PA Farm Bureau's agricultural book outreach program in Warren, PA
The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau recently visited every school in the Warren County School District, reading agriculture-themed books to students and giving each school free books to further their curriculum.
The visit is part of a larger effort to connect students with the importance of farming in their daily lives. The Bureau’s Mobile Agriculture Lab is also scheduled to return later this month and again in May, offering hands-on educational experiences.
"This is the 14th year that the Farm Bureau has done this," explained Ruth Morrison, Agricultural Promotional Chairman for the Warren County Farm Bureau. "We read to every single public and private school in the county and give every school books for their curriculum."
The initiative is designed to spark early interest in agriculture and help students understand its role in their local community.
"We are hosting our Mobile Ag Lab again this year too, in April and May - and will be going to all the schools to give the kids a more hands-on learning experience," Morrison said. "It's a good time to work with them, to see their excitement, and to know that farming is hopeful."
