The Pennsylvania State House passed House Bill 308, a bill designed to bring Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) protections to public sector employees.

State Representative Pat Harkins has been working to get the bill passed since 2015.

The legislation comes as a result of the tragic death of EMTA employee Jake Schwab, who was killed after a bus fell on him while he was fixing it.

The bill passed 111-92 and now heads to the State Senate for consideration.
