As students across the country worry about the possibility of getting their visa revoked, Gannon University is doing their best to provide support to their own students.

Randy Bowen, the Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing for Gannon University said, "We are working with students right now to understand what the process for them is and how to get some extra support on campus."

School officials said every situation is different and they are working on a case by case basis. "I think it's important for us to understand that we tell those students to immediately come to us and have those conversations with our global office and our global support services and we immediately start to work with that student to rectify that and get that student moving in the right direction", said Bowen.

Not only are they working to get them support on campus, but off campus too. According to Bowen, "The other thing we are trying to do is get them to the proper community resources that they need to move this process forward. We are also looking at from our perspective what we can do to help support them from the visa issue because right now it is a fluid process and it's something we are looking into and trying to figure out as well."

Gannon University is directing students to their Global Support and Student Engagement Office about any visa related questions. As Bowen explained, "What we are seeing in our Global Office, some countries a little bit tougher time getting student's visas, others we haven't seen any changes, so at the undergraduate global side, I don't think we will see a major impact as the process occurs. We have moved and given student the opportunities to get their visas early, as part of the spring semester, we have deferred their visas to the fall semester so it added four or five months for them to do that."

Not only are they working with students from other countries, but also with students looking to study abroad. As Bowen said, "We know we have to be ahead of the game for students applying for those visas and having students put together their passport documents to study away or study abroad. We know that's part of the process, we are just trying to plan from a timing perspective."

Officials at Gannon University recommend that students with any visa questions or concerns reach out to their Office of Global support.
