With Easter just days away, local chocolate shops throughout the region are seeing a steady flow of last-minute shoppers.
Popular destinations like The Tybout House and the newly opened Stonehill Chocolates in the city of Warren, say the rush has been nonstop.
“We’ve seen a huge rush this past week,” said Victoria Boehmer, Owner of Tybout House. “We have completely sold out of our chocolate bunnies. I think that Easter really snuck up on people this year though, they have been coming in and doing a lot of last-minute shopping, making sure that everybody's baskets are equal and even."
At Stonehill Chocolates, the story is much the same.
“We made a lot of specialty Easter designs but are down to just a few of them now," said Chari Spear of Stonehill Chocolates. "A lot of customers have been coming in today. The days leading up to Easter have always been a great week for us, Warren County residents show up big for our local businesses."
While most Easter-themed inventory is already gone, both shops say they still have a few treats available for those still checking off their holiday lists.
Both shops shared their gratitude for the community and local support, and are already looking ahead to Mother's Day, which they say is another very busy day for candy sales.
