Repairs Underway, Appointments Resume After Valet Driver Crashes Vehicle into Hardner Building
AHN St. Vincent has resumed patient appointments at the Hardner Building after a valet driver crashing into the building on Tuesday.
According to AHN, the building has been deemed to be structurally sound by a structural engineer, and needed repairs are underway.
Additionally, the LifeFlight helicopter has began using the helipad on top of the building again. Details on the crash can be found below.
A valet driver crashed a car into a medical building in Erie on Tuesday, according to AHN Saint Vincent officials.
It happened at the Hardner Building, next to the hospital, on Myrtle St.
No patients or staff were hurt. The driver is in stable condition at the hospital.
As a precaution, the building was evacuated, and appointments are being rescheduled. A structural engineer will inspect the damage before anyone can return inside.
Meanwhile, LifeFlight helicopters are being rerouted to Erie International Airport, with patients transported by ambulance. The hospital’s emergency department is still open, and parking remains available.
