Storm Downs Trees in Warren County
In Warren County, a quick burst of high winds and heavy rain swept through the region on April 29th, causing trees to fall in multiple areas from Russell to Tionesta.
Along Route 62 in Russell, PA volunteers from the Russell Volunteer Fire Department responded to a tree hanging over the roadway. The tree had become entangled in phone lines, and crews worked quickly to clear the scene.
"We had a quick storm roll through the area with hard wind and rain, causing a tree to fall on the lines and into the highway," stated Dave Schwanke, Russell VFD Fire Chief. "We worked quickly to get it cleaned up as best as we could."
Phone companies were later contacted to fully address the issue.
With wind and rain advisories remaining in effect, officials are urging drivers to stay cautious and alert for additional debris or downed trees throughout the region.
