Celebrating National Small Business Week in Warren and Chautauqua County
National Small Business Week takes place May 4th through the 10th, and local chambers in both Warren and Chautauqua counties are highlighting the impact of small businesses on the regional economy.
According to local officials, nearly 90% of businesses in each county are considered small — employing fewer than 500 people. And while their size may be modest, their influence is anything but.
“Small businesses are not only the largest employers in our region — they’re the driving source and cornerstone of our community,” said Jim Decker, President and CEO of the Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry.
Both chambers are using the week to spotlight small business owners through social media campaigns, special events, and community outreach. The message is clear: shop local, support local.
“Every dollar spent locally turns over in our economy,” said Daniel Heitzenrater, President and CEO of Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce. “We here at the Chamber are always championing that message of supporting local and shopping small."
National Small Business Week runs through Saturday, May 10th.
