Warren County officials are preparing for the upcoming May 20th primary election, which features several high-profile local races—including District Attorney and multiple open seats on the Warren County School Board.

As in previous years, several townships and municipalities throughout the county have vacant positions for supervisor, auditor, and constable. Officials say this is a concerning trend, and are asking members of the public to consider running.

“Probably our hottest race will be the school district races and the District Attorney,” said Warren County Commissioner Dan Glotz. “Assistant District Attorney Cody Brown and Assistant District Attorney Casey Strickland are running for the District Attorney position, Magisterial District Judge Todd Woodin is running for the Court of Common Pleas, and there are few races happening at the municipal level. But as we’ve seen in the past, there are municipalities that have no candidates running for certain positions. So that makes things difficult. We encourage everybody to get involved in government—run for some of these positions.”

May 13th is the last day to apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot ahead of the primary. There are no major changes to voter requirements or election security this year.

County officials say procedures remain the same, and they are urging residents to take part in the process and help fill key roles in local government.
