Mayor Schember Discusses Election Night Results
Erie Mayor Joe Schember was still optimistic as he awaited results at Calamari's with his family, friends, and supporters on Tuesday night during the Pennsylvania Primary.
Although opponent Daria Devlin took the lead, the mayor of eight years was still hopeful as the final votes were tallied.
The 74 year-old businessman was grateful for the support from the community and from his supporters and said he believes they accomplished a lot, but more work can still be done.
According to Schember, "The past eight years have been really good. We have had some things that have came up that we had to deal with, but we dealt with them well. I think we would have had a great last four years as well. I almost think we would have accomplished as much as we did in the last eight years in the next four, but if I don't have an opportunity to do that then I don't and I will move forward."
Schember was running for his third term as Mayor for the City of Erie.
