Erie Police Anticipate Charges in Downtown Attack of Musician

The Erie Police Department plans to file charges against several juveniles who have been accused of assaulting a violinist.
According to police, the attack happened around 3 p.m. on Tuesday at the corner of 9th and Peach Streets.
Officers arrived at the scene to find a 23-year-old man laying on the sidewalk.
According to Deputy Chief Rick Lorah, it started out as an altercation on an EMTA bus.
Dep. Chief Lorah says five to six juveniles then assaulted the victim near a bus stop. He was then taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Police are no reviewing surveillance video from the bus and surrounding businesses, as they continue their investigation.
"Anytime we have a group of individuals assaulting a solo individual, that's concerning to us, especially in the downtown area," said Dep. Chief Lorah. "We're not going to tolerate people jumping people in downtown or anywhere in the city. This is going to be investigated and those involved in it will be charged."
Dep. Chief Lorah anticipates charges against at least three juveniles in connection to the attack.
