The Sisters of St. Joseph is celebrating a big milestone this year, 165 years of ministry in the Erie Diocese.

They have been celebrating all year long and on Saturday held a few events to commemorate the anniversary.

In the morning, members gathered for a prayer service before making their way to two cemeteries to lay wreathes for 511 deceased sisters of St. Joseph at both Trinity Cemetery and Calvary Cemetery. Each wreath laying ceremony concluded with a brief prayer service.

There's more events planned throughout the year including an exhibit at the Hagen History Center which is set to open in the fall.
