Tributes for fallen men and women began on Sunday for Memorial Day weekend.

The Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home held their annual ceremony.


It began with music from the bayfront brass.


McDowell High school's JROTC presented the colors.

The Wesleyville American Legion's Honor Guard was also present.

Retired Major John Nygaard of the U.S. Airforce was the keynote speaker.

The solemn, ceremony ended with a laying of the wreath at the flag pole and the playing of taps.

More Memorial day ceremonies will be taking place on Monday including one at the Veteran's Memorial Park at the corner of 26th and State Street.
