All An Act Theater Continues to Rebuild
It's been just over a year since a fire broke out in a local homeless shelter, causing damage to its theater.
Nearly thirteen months later, those cleanup efforts continue.
Right now, members of All An Act are in a state of limbo, as they wait to see when they can finally re-open the theater. But they plan on re-building everything, from the ground up.
At the end of last April, a fire broke out inside of the All An Act theater, which is located inside of Community Shelter Services.
The fire forced the shelter to evacuate more than 120 people, but fortunately no one was hurt or displaced.
Over the past year, the shelter has been working to restore the theater and in the meantime, All An Act has hosted two productions at the Station Dinner Theater.
All An Act also still has a GoFundMe page set up to help out with recovery efforts.
Dave Mitchell from All An Act Theater said, "Emotionally, it was very devastating. We managed to stay on top of things for twenty years and call it an act of God or fate or whatever, the electrical fire really put us, really tied our hands for what we can do."
The Board of Directors at Community Shelter Services are expected to meet Wednesday to talk about the future of the theater.
