Giant Eagle, Inc. announced it will acquire pharmacy prescriptions from 78 Rite Aid locations in Pennsylvania and Ohio, with transfers set to begin in June.

Prescriptions will move to the most convenient Giant Eagle Pharmacy for each customer.

One specific location affected is the Rite Aid at 4145 Buffalo Road.

Starting Thursday, June 5, prescriptions from this store will be available at the nearby Harborcreek Giant Eagle at 4265 Buffalo Road.

Giant Eagle is working with Rite Aid to ensure a smooth transition and is reaching out to impacted customers.

The company is also hiring pharmacy staff to support the expansion. The deal is pending regulatory approval.
