Nine Fort LeBoeuf high school students won the Governor's Civic Engagement Award.

This honor recognizes students who volunteer at election polls and help register their peers to vote.

Statewide, 33 high schools earned awards for their efforts during the 2024-25 school year.

Nineteen schools achieved gold level status by registering at least 85 percent of eligible students, while fourteen earned silver for registering 65 to 84 percent.

Altogether, 555 students from sixteen counties helped register about 5,000 new voters.

The award, presented by Pennsylvania's Departments of State and Education, highlights the importance of youth involvement in the democratic process.
