All An Act Theatre Faces Closure After Losing Longtime Erie Home

All An Act Theatre announced it will lose its longtime home after the Community Shelter Services (CSS) Board of Directors voted on Wednesday, to not restore the theatre space in their building.
The decision comes after a devastating fire in April 2024 and months of uncertainty.
The theatre company, which has raised more than $90,000 for Erie’s homeless over 17 years, was initially told the space would be restored.
However, CSS has chosen to focus exclusively on its mission to help the homeless.
The fire, determined to be caused by an electrical outlet, resulted in $35,000 in damages to theatre equipment and scenery.
Delays in responding to the fire alarm worsened the damage, but no injuries were reported.
All An Act Theatre says it is now searching for a new venue and asks for community support to continue its work.
The company warns that without a new space, it may be forced to close.
Despite the setback, the theatre expressed gratitude to CSS for years of partnership and wished the organization well in its mission
