Touch-a-Truck Returns to Betts Park in Warren County
The Jefferson Defrees Family Center will be hosting the return of their annual Touch-A-Truck event at Betts Park in Warren, PA on Saturday, June 7th.
Designed to be hands-on and family-friendly, the event allows children of all ages to explore a wide range of vehicles, including emergency response units, farm equipment, construction machinery, and more.
Last year’s event featured more than 25 vehicles—among them police cruisers, fire trucks, and even monster trucks.
“It’s not just trucks—there are emergency vehicles, construction equipment, and race cars,” said Jennifer Madigan, Childcare Director for Jefferson Defrees. “This year we have made more additions to the program. During the VIP hour, which costs $10.00, we will have a BMX stunt show. Afterward, during the general admission times we will have a foam dance party.”
In addition to the lineup of vehicles, the event will include live entertainment, games, and food vendors spread throughout the park.
“We’ll also have live entertainment, games, and activities set up all across the park,” said Melinda Johnson, Jefferson Defrees Family Center Executive Director. “It’s really designed to be a full day of fun for families, and everything is by donation, or totally free - so it’s accessible to everyone.”
Representatives from the Jefferson Defrees Family Center say the event offers an opportunity for children of all ages 0 - 100, to interact with community workers in a safe and engaging way, while also supporting local programming.
All proceeds from the event will benefit programming offered at the Jefferson Defrees Family Center, including the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and the center's newest initiative, an interactive children's discovery center and museum.
