Rep. Bizzarro Announces $600k for Apprenticeship Certification in Northwest PA
State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro has announced a $600,000 state investment to expand apprenticeship certification for 32 educators in Erie and surrounding counties.
The funding, part of a nearly $8 million statewide initiative, aims to combat teacher shortages and boost workforce training by supporting "earn-as-you-learn" programs.
The Keystone Community Education Council was one of 17 organizations selected for the grant, which helps aspiring teachers gain certification while working in classrooms.
“This investment tackles both the educator shortage and workforce training needs,” said Bizzarro, who represents Fairview and Millcreek.
The move is part of Bizzarro’s broader effort to bring resources to the region, with over $4.7 million already directed to Erie County this year.
