The Erie Zoo has a new resident!

In a social media post, the Erie Zoo introduced the newest member of its family.

Sheba, a binturong—also known as a "bearcat"—has arrived from Brookfield Zoo in Chicago and is settling into her new home.

Sheba now resides in a specially designed habitat that includes both an outdoor viewing area and a private, behind-the-scenes space.

Zoo officials note that Sheba is still adjusting and may not always be visible to guests as she explores at her own pace.

Known for being shy, Sheba is gradually becoming comfortable in her surroundings.

The Erie Zoo thanks visitors for their patience and hopes guests may catch a glimpse of her on their next visit.

Welcome, Sheba!
