Erie Elks Lodge #67 is set to present a generous $4,600 donation to Meals on Wheels Erie, Wednesday afternoon, to support the organization’s Veterans in Need Meal Program.

The donation, announced during a ceremony at the lodge on Peninsula Drive, includes contributions from both lodge fundraising and a National Foundation Spotlight Grant secured by the Elks.

“This generous gift allows us to expand this vital service,” said Meals on Wheels Erie Executive Director Jennifer Hoffman.

The funding will help move two veterans from the program’s waiting list into active service.

Since launching in 2020, the Veterans in Need Meal Program has delivered daily meals to 38 local veterans at no cost, offering both nourishment and meaningful connection.

“As long as there are veterans, the Elks will never forget them,” said Trustee Jim Law.

The donation continues the Elks' mission of patriotism and community support.
