As the school year winds down, students across Warren County are capping it off with sunshine, water games, and laughter.

At Warren Area Elementary Center, students enjoyed a water and field day held behind the Warren County Career Center. Older students from the Career Center helped lead the fun, assisting with activities and guiding younger children through a day filled with sports and splashing.

“We helped set up the water games and helped them with a lot of other games—it was a lot of fun” said Brice Spinks, Career Center student.

Teachers say the event not only gave the children a chance to unwind but also encouraged mentorship between age groups.

“My students from the Early Childhood Education class came out to help," stated Rachael McClellan, Faculty Advisor. "I could not be more proud of them and how hard they are working today - it's really been a great experience for everyone."

Across town at Saint Joseph Catholic School, students were celebrating in their own way—with outdoor relay races, indoor games, and a dunk tank. Teachers and sixth grade student volunteers were good sports as students took turns trying to send them into the water.

“I dunked a sixth grader!” said Kinsley Davidson, Saint Joseph student.
"Me too," added fellow classmate, Ruth Sienkiewicz. "It's been a lot of fun."

"We love to see them smiling and having fun, and this is a great way to end the school year," stated Judi Danielson, Saint Joseph School Interim Principal.

Most schools in the area will wrap up the year on Friday, June 6th, officially kicking off summer break for hundreds of local students.
