The Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Growth (CCPEG) has received a $35,000 grant from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Legacy Funds, administered by the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, to support Phase V of the Overland Trails Revitalization Project.

The funding will help improve and reroute sections of the Earl Cardot Eastside Overland Trail within Boutwell Hill State Forest.

Planned upgrades focus on improving trail sustainability, drainage, and year-round accessibility for hikers, bikers, and cross-country skiers.

CCPEG is collaborating with the County Parks Department and New York State DEC to complete the project and secure additional grant funding.

If all funding is obtained, trail construction will begin in late summer or early fall and will be completed by Trail Construction Associates, local experts in green trail design.

The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Legacy Funds support causes important to the late philanthropist, including community assets, youth sports, and accessibility.
