Rockdale Road in Crawford County to be Closed for Repairs

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will close a section of Rockdale Road (Route 1007) at the border of Bloomfield and Rockdale townships starting June 9, 2025, to replace a deteriorating metal pipe with a new concrete box culvert over Federal Run.
The closure will take place approximately 300 feet north of the intersection with Forest Home Road, with work expected to be completed and the road reopened by mid-July, weather permitting.
The 1988-installed pipe is in poor condition, and the replacement is part of a larger project that includes milling, paving, and shoulder backup work.
An average of 200 vehicles use the route daily.
A posted detour will guide drivers along Brown Hill Road (Route 1016), Shreve Ridge Road (Route 1039), and Old Meadville Road.
The project is being handled by PennDOT crews from Crawford County, with support from Allison Park Contractors of Gibsonia.
The total contract cost, including additional work on Fry Road later this summer, is $339,000, funded entirely by the state.
Drivers are urged to use caution in work zones and can check real-time road conditions at 511PA.com.
